SSG MFG (Strategic Sales Group) is an independent manufacturers' representation firm. For 25+ years it has placed service and production parts for OEMs with vetted manufacturers, called principals. It now adds an online part builder with instant estimates, an AI copilot, an open API and MCP server for agents, and a network independent reps can join.

An independent sales firm that sells for several noncompeting manufacturers in a territory, paid by those manufacturers on commission.
The manufacturers are called principals. The rep finds programs, manages RFQs and handles communication and negotiation between the buyer and the plant. The principal quotes, builds, ships and invoices the parts. A rep firm's principals make up its line card, and a good one knows which shop should make a part before the drawing is finished.

Represented principals that make service and production parts for OEMs. This is the line card: 12 process lines SSG knows cold, with 3 more joining through the network.
Injection molding10k+Molten thermoplastic injected into a steel or aluminum mold. Lowest piece price for plastic parts at 5,000+ a year.
Stamping5k+Short- to medium-run stampings: brackets, clips, shields, and plates cut and formed from sheet or coil in a press.
Deep draw25k+One-piece cups, cans, shells, and housings drawn from flat blanks, with depth that can exceed the diameter.
Rubber5k+Seals, gaskets, grommets, and profiles extruded or molded in EPDM, silicone, nitrile, neoprene, FKM, and TPE.
Powdered metal25k+Net-shape gears, bushings, and structural parts pressed from metal powder and sintered, with little or no machining.
Springs & wire forms1k+Compression, extension, and torsion springs, wire forms, and fourslide clips made from round wire and flat strip.
Die casting5k+Molten zinc or aluminum injected into steel dies at high pressure. Thin walls and net shape at 2,500+ parts a year.
Screw machining10k+Turned pins, fittings, shafts, and bushings made from bar stock on multi-spindle and Swiss screw machines at volume.
Forging2k+Closed-die and open-die forgings in carbon, alloy, and stainless steel and aluminum, with grain flow for strength.
CNC machining10+CNC milling, turning, and production sawing from bar, plate, castings, and forgings, from prototype to production.
Soft goods500+Cut-and-sewn covers, bags, cases, straps, cushions, and industrial textiles, from pattern development to production.
Offshore sourcing5k+Parts made by vetted overseas manufacturers, with landed-cost analysis, quality control, and logistics managed.Same rep firm, same principals. Software now does the part that doesn't need a person: the first price, the DFM check, the RFQ.
Start from a template or upload a STEP or STL file. See unit price, tooling, quantity breaks, lead time and a DFM check in seconds, then send the RFQ.
Open the builderDescribe the part in a sentence, or share a photo or sketch, and the copilot configures it in the builder and explains the trade-offs between processes.
Try the copilotA REST API, an MCP server at /api/mcp and in-browser WebMCP tools let Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent search the catalog, price parts and draft RFQs for a person to approve.
Developer docsFive rules that decide where a part gets made and what you pay for it.
Every RFQ looks for a qualified US principal first. Offshore gets the job when the landed cost actually wins, not when the piece price looks good on its own.
An offshore piece price is not the price. Freight, duty, tariffs, inventory in transit and the cost of a bad lot all go in the number before anyone compares.
How landed cost is calculatedA draft angle or a wall thickness is cheap to change on a drawing and expensive to change in hardened steel. The builder flags DFM issues up front, and principals review the drawing before any tool is cut.
If the part should be stamped instead of machined, or cast instead of forged, SSG says so, even when that sends it to a different principal.
Rep firms are typically paid a commission by the manufacturers they represent, on orders that ship. Buyers don't pay the rep a fee: you get the principal's quote and buy at the principal's price.
What a manufacturers' rep doesPrice it yourself, send a drawing, or talk to a rep. Every RFQ reaches a person who knows the shops.
SSG is Strategic Sales Group, the company's legal name. MFG is short for manufacturing. The firm has represented manufacturers that make OEM service and production parts for 25+ years, and ssgmfg.com is its home.
No. SSG is a manufacturers' representation firm. The parts are made by principals, the independent manufacturers SSG represents. The principal quotes, builds, ships and invoices the parts; SSG matches the program to the right principal and manages communication through delivery.
Typically not. In a standard rep arrangement the manufacturer pays the rep's commission on orders that ship, and the buyer pays the manufacturer's quoted price. Instant estimates in the part builder are free to run.
SSG is a rep firm, not a plant, so it doesn't hold manufacturing certifications. It matches each program with principals that hold the certification the program requires, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 or ISO 13485.
Domestic first. SSG places work with US principals where they fit, and sources offshore when the landed cost, including freight, duty and quality risk, beats the domestic quote. The network includes principals nationwide and worldwide.
12 core lines SSG has represented for years, including plastic injection molding, metal stamping, deep drawn stamping, die casting, powdered metal, forging, screw machine products and offshore sourcing, plus 3 lines joining through the network. Principals currently supply 24 industries, from lawn and garden to automotive.
