Terms of use

These terms cover ssgmfg.com, the part builder, the AI copilot, the REST API, the MCP server and WebMCP tools (together, “the site”), run by Strategic Sales Group (“SSG”). By using the site you agree to them. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company.

SSG is a manufacturers’ representation firm. It doesn’t make parts. Principals, the independent manufacturers SSG represents, quote, make, ship and invoice them.

Prices, tooling, lead times and DFM results from the builder, the API, the MCP server or the copilot are estimates from a cost model. They are for budgeting and comparing options. They are not offers, quotes or commitments, and a firm quote can differ from them, sometimes by a wide margin.

DFM feedback is guidance, not engineering approval. You remain responsible for your design and its fitness for your use.

Firm quotes come from principals after they review your drawings and requirements. An order is a contract between you and the principal, on the principal’s quote and terms and your purchase order. SSG isn’t a party to that contract unless it agrees in writing.

You keep all rights in the drawings, models, specifications and other files you send (“your designs”). You let SSG, and the principals matched to your RFQ, use your designs only to evaluate, quote and, if you order, make and inspect your parts. SSG claims no ownership of your designs or of parts made to them.

Ownership of tooling you pay for is set in the principal’s quote and your purchase order. Put it in writing before the tool is built.

Only send designs you have the right to share.

Ask for an NDA on any RFQ and drawings go to principals only after it is signed. Without one, SSG still shares files only with principals matched to the RFQ, for quoting. See the privacy policy for how data is handled.

Don’t upload ITAR-controlled or other export-controlled technical data without flagging it on the RFQ first. Controlled work goes only to principals registered and authorized to handle it, never offshore.

Don’t use the site to:

• Break the law or anyone else’s rights, including by uploading designs you don’t have the right to share.
• Upload malware, or try to get around security, rate limits or access controls.
• Overload the site, or scrape it outside the API.
• Pretend to be someone else, or submit RFQs you don’t intend to consider.

SSG can suspend access that breaks these terms.

The API and MCP server are open for fair use. Current per-address limits, which may change:

• Estimates and MCP tool calls: 120 a minute, bursts of 60.
• RFQs: 6 a minute. Contact messages: 5 a minute.
• Copilot: 12 requests a minute.

Agents must get the person’s confirmation before submitting an RFQ or a message on their behalf, and must present estimates as budgetary, not as quotes. There is no uptime commitment. SSG may throttle or block traffic that harms the service. Documentation is on the developers page.

The copilot uses an AI model and can be wrong. Check what it suggests before you rely on it; the part you order is your decision.

Reps and principals sign separate agreements that cover territory, commission and payment. Where those agreements conflict with these terms, they win.

The site, estimates, DFM checks, copilot output and API are provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, SSG disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

As far as the law allows, SSG isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the site or these terms, even if told they were possible.

SSG’s total liability for any claim about the site is limited to [amount, e.g. US$100]. Claims about parts are governed by your contract with the principal.

You’ll cover SSG’s reasonable costs from claims that your designs infringe someone else’s rights, or that you broke these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in [County], [State].
