7075-T6 is a zinc-alloyed aluminum and one of the strongest common aluminum alloys, with typical tensile strength of 83 ksi (572 MPa) and yield of 73 ksi (503 MPa). It machines very well and is the default for highly stressed aerospace, defense and sporting goods parts. It is not fusion weldable and has lower corrosion resistance than 6061, so plan on anodize.

Not by conventional fusion welding. TIG and MIG welds hot-crack and lose most of the T6 strength. Friction stir welding works. For most parts, design bolted or bonded joints, or choose 6061 if welding is required.
T6 is peak strength, about 83 ksi (572 MPa) tensile. T73 is overaged to resist stress corrosion cracking and exfoliation, at about 73 ksi (505 MPa). Specify T73 or T7351 for parts under sustained tensile stress in humid or marine service.
Stronger than mild steel, not heat-treated alloy steel. 7075-T6 at 83 ksi (572 MPa) exceeds cold-drawn 1018 (64 ksi, 440 MPa) but falls well below quenched and tempered 4140, often 140 ksi (965 MPa) or more. By strength-to-weight it beats both.
Zinc and copper in 7075 give clear anodize a slight yellow or bronze tint, and dyed colors can shift. Black dyes well. For color-matched assemblies, anodize parts of the same alloy together.
